I have a extensive experiences in both academic and professional areas. My academic background consists of an undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University in Sociology, an MBA at Georgia State University, and a PhD in Management from Auburn University. My teaching experience includes assignments at Auburn University, Georgia Southwestern State University, and now at the University of North Florida, where I am currently an Associate Professor of Management. I've received a number of honors for academic achievements as a graduate student, teacher, and researcher. I have also published several articles in high quality journals such as Career Development International, the Journal of Leadership & Organizational Studies, Management Decision, and Business Horizons. I currently serve as the faculty member over the Human Resources minor at the University of North Florida and the Graduate Program Director for the Masters of Science in Management (MSM) program.
Before returning to school for my Ph.D, I worked in the private sector for over 10 years. My work experience includes supervisory, human resource, and management positions in the customer service, aerospace, and information technology industries, and in large and small businesses. I value my work experience as a resource that helps me connect with current businesses and with my students on a professional, not just academic, level.
