Biography

Dong-Young Kim is a Coggin Endowed Strategic Professor and Professor of Operations Management and Quantitative Methods in the Coggin College of Business at the University of North Florida. Dr. Kim received his Ph.D. in Operations Management from the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University in Canada. Prior to pursuing his PhD, he worked for six years at the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute. He teaches quantitative analysis and modeling courses, including mathematical modeling, operations management, and process efficiency at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He is a Certified Quality Process Analyst, Certified Tableau Desktop Specialist, and Certified Online Instructor. His current research focuses on innovation, supplier dependence, and supply chain networks. His work has appeared in Journal of Operations Management, International Journal of Production Research, International Journal of Operations and Production Management, Operations Management Research, Supply Chain Management: an International Journal, Business Process Management Journal, Journal of Manufacturing Technology Management, and Journal of Risk Research, among others. He is a recipient of the Presidential Faculty Leader Award, the Earle C. Traynham Outstanding Faculty Scholarship Award, the High-Impact Research Article Award, the Kip Fellow Research Grant, the Outstanding Paper Award, and the Exemplary Teacher Award.
