Personal profile

Biography

Dr. G, published children’s author, brings a creative perspective combined with over 25 years of educational experiences including classroom teaching, school administration, curriculum development and university teaching. She has a specialist degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Florida and a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Florida.

She has designed arts-integrated curriculum as well as curriculum focused on facilitating social competence and building school readiness skills. She recently attended a week long Harvard Summer Institute focused on learning in and through the arts titled the Project Zero Classroom. As a children’s author, she has participated in Much Ado About Books, Florida Heritage Book Festival and the Cummer Museum Book Fair. She also enjoys making author visits to elementary schools and talking to children about writing.


Dr. G has presented at national and international conferences and her publications have appeared in Early Child Development and Care, Creativity Research Journal and Journal of Research in Childhood Education. Her primary research interests include social competence for young children and the potential impact of arts-integrated learning.
