About
Dr. Jasmine Haynes is an Assistant Professor of Social Work at the University of North Florida. She earned a BA degree in Sociology from Spelman College, a MSW from Florida State University, and Ph.D. in Public Affairs (concentration in Social Work) from the University of Central Florida. Dr. Haynes’ teaching and research are guided by transformational learning and critical race frameworks. Her research explores the influence of trauma-informed professional development training for educational professionals serving underserved youth and young adults. Dr. Haynes’ research also promotes the elevation of racially minoritized youth voices to inform practices, programs, and policies that support their social-emotional well-being. She has over 10 years of experience serving marginalized youth of various ages and developmental stages in multiple capacities and education settings.
