Osama Jadaan

Dr. Jadaan is the Director of the School of Engineering (SoE) and Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of North Florida (UNF). Dr. Jadaan is an ABET Program Evaluator and has extensive expertise in building new engineering programs, curriculum development, and academic management. In 2017, Dr. Jadaan led the creation of three new engineering majors at his previous institution in the fields of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering. In 2014, he successfully led the initial ABET accreditation for the Mechanical and Civil Engineering Programs at the same institution.

Professor Jadaan is an expert in the fields of probabilistic design, ceramic engineering, multiaxial fatigue, creep rupture, fracture mechanics, Finite Element Analysis, and structural analysis and design. He was awarded 12 faculty research fellowships at NASA Glenn Research Center and 4 fellowships at the Oak Ridge National Lab. He also served as consultant for several major corporations including John Deere, Caterpillar, Ferro, and FMCTechnologies (currently TechnipFMC).

Dr. Jadaan teaches courses in design against mechanical failure (fatigue, multiaxial fracture, creep rupture, wear, and fretting), FEA, engineering materials, construction materials, design and simulation of MEMS, structural mechanics, structural design, mechanics of materials, dynamics, and statics.
Dr. Jadaan's passion is to contribute to the innovation of engineering education through intense hands-on and design experience for students. He brings this energy and passion to the University of North Florida to develop students into professional engineers, future leaders, and responsible citizens
