Biography
I am interested in French-language women's writing from France and North Africa; I have published articles on Franco-Maghrebi writers and filmmakers in France. In addition to fiction and cinema, I research French bandes dessinées (comics) and graphic novels that examine France's colonial past. I am also interested in translation and French cultural studies. My translation of Mouloud Feraoun's novel La terre et le sang was published as Land and Blood in 2012 by University of Virginia Press.
I served as Department Chair, from January, 2013 to August, 2020.
