Abstract

Obesity is a public health burden associated with a number of adverse health conditions and high health care costs. As an integral part of standard behavior-based therapy, self-monitoring has been used in many lifestyle intervention programs to address the obesity epidemic. In weight management, self-monitoring usually consists of tracking dietary intake, physical activity, body weight, and/or other health measurements.
