Remote controls for infrared experiments

Abstract

Digital IR remote control devices and incandescent lamps electrically heated only to red provide convenient and inexpensive sources of IR for optics experiments, facilitating student exploration of this important and neglected area. IR can be made visible using commercial IR sensor cards.
