Abstract
Two issues that have recently increased in awareness by the general public have always been a concern to ADA members: health literacy and food deserts. Both problems have the potential to affect all segments of the population, but they disproportionately affect underserved low-income people. Through our professional training and our practice experience, we are uniquely qualified to make a difference on both issues.
