Technology Leadership: Learning from Mistakes

Research output: Contribution to conferenceProceedingspeer-review

Abstract

Serving as a computer teacher and, eventually, the Technology Director of a K-8 school, I made many, many mistakes. Our fledgling school was created to serve as a model of urban innovation and information technology integration. The problem was that we had no technology curriculum, standards or even the slightest clue as to what would be the most effective use of computers in the classroom. Yet, in that decade it was our mistakes that we learned from that allowed us to eventually serve as a model of technology integration throughout the entire city. It is these mistakes and how we handled these mistakes that form the Top Ten Tips for School Based Technology.
