Associate Professor, Program Area Leader

Perfil personal

Biography

I began my tenure at UNF in 2003 as the coordinator for the Social Studies Education program. Since that time, I’ve instructed both elementary and secondary undergraduate and graduate social studies methodology courses, supervised interns during student teaching, facilitated graduate research projects, and served on various doctoral dissertation committees.

My research generally involves or targets teachers pursuing pragmatic efforts within classroom settings – at both the preservice and inservice levels. Articles I have authored or co-authored illustrate collaborative curriculum inquiry processes and the role of systematic reflection and action research within schools.

Prior to my arrival at UNF, I spent three years as an assistant professor at UNC-Greensboro and, before that, was a middle school social studies teacher in Seminole County, FL.
