Resumen

Encouraging active engagement toward meaningful learning in the general education classroom is a challenge for faculty. For nutrition educators, there is limited information on methods to guide them in effectively using technology to create a more learner-centered, interactive environment—especially for freshman and sophomore students.

Active learning strategies have been identified as fundamental toward engaging students and have been successfully used in teaching difficult science content. Designed to give students immediate feedback on their performance, interactive technology is a critical part of technology-based learning, enhancing teaching by meeting the demand for more student-centered, active learning classrooms.
