Food Insecurity Among Undergraduate Nursing Students: A Post-Pandemic Assessment

Producción científica: Articlerevisión exhaustiva

Resumen

Food insecurity is more prevalent among college students than in the general US population. This study examined the prevalence of food insecurity specifically among nursing students during the post-pandemic period. Survey data were collected from 199 students across four southeastern baccalaureate nursing programs. Between 44 and 60 percent of respondents reported being unable to afford balanced meals in the past year. To address this issue, strategies such as establishing campus food pantries, providing nutrition education, and raising awareness of community resources should be prioritized.
