Resumen
With the increasing popularity of linked data, more libraries are starting to test the possibilities of its implementation into local library systems, including the integrated library system (ILS) and the institutional repository (IR). In the case of the University of North Florida, we began to explore the possibilities of linked data when applied to some of the content in the IR, Digital Commons. In the process, we found simple ways to integrate linked data while tumbling into problems with the metadata that displays in the OAI feed, which needed remediation. The following presentation will discuss our findings, including ways to integrate linked data into Digital Commons, potential places to apply it, and the implications of its use over the metadata that displays in the OAI, with suggested steps for remediation.
