N2 - In this work, the modeling and simulation of an energy accumulator with phase change material was carried out. The characteristic dimension used for the calculations was the hydraulic diameter in order to keep the amount of phase change material constant when varying the geometry. The objective was to determine the joint influence of the eccentricity and the fins in the thermal process in the accumulator. The result obtained was that the presence of these two aspects has a considerable effect on increasing the liquid fraction during the fusion process, therefore, reducing the time necessary for total fusion. In addition, an expression was obtained for the determination of the liquid fraction based on the dimensionless Fourier, Stefan and Rayleigh criteria.
